The  eighth of  nine children  born to a St. Louis  policeman and his bride, Father Andy  responded to  God's call  while studying  engineering and  mathematics at Washington  University,  St. Louis.  Ordained in  1970, he has served the Church and the  Redemptorists as  parish priest,  mission preacher,  retreat master, and promoter of the Catholic press, specifically the  Liguorian. His ministry has taken

him to Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, Amarillo, Wichita, Kansas City.
